Willow Springs Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center Welcomes Dr. Joshua Shua-Haim as Medical Director

One of Region’s Leading Geriatric Care Specialists Joins Brick, N.J., Skilled Nursing Facility

Willow Springs Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, a Marquis Health Services member, has named Dr. Joshua Shua-Haim, FACP, AGSF, CMD, as its new medical director, announced Norman Rokeach, chief executive officer. The 163-bed skilled nursing facility in Brick Township provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.

“Dr. Shua-Haim is widely regarded as one of the region’s leading geriatric care specialists, and we are thrilled to welcome him as our new medical director at Willow Springs,” said Rokeach. “This facility is right in our own back yard and is particularly special to us at Marquis. Dr. Shua-Haim will play an essential role in our continued development and expansion of specialty programming at Willow Springs, to meet the needs of area residents.”

Dr. Shua-Haim is an attending physician at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, and has privileges at Community Medical Center in Toms River and Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. He currently serves as president and medical chief for the Mid-Atlantic Geriatric Association, and is a clinical professor of medicine at Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick.

Marquis in late 2016 completed a $2.8 million repositioning of Willow Springs, which is located at 1049 Burnt Tavern Road. Physical improvements included the addition of 13 private suites in the facility’s sub-acute rehabilitation wing, an approximately 3,000-square-foot expansion of the state-of-the-art rehab gym, and upgrades to common areas, as well as the facility’s long-term care and secured geriatric neighborhoods.

“It is my pleasure to be leading this progressive skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in its focus on clinical excellence,” said Dr. Shua-Haim. “From the next-level specialized programming to concierge-driven guest services, this is truly ‘Rehabbing Care’ at Willow Springs.”

Previously, Dr. Shua-Haim served as program director for the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship Program associated with Jersey Shore University Medical Center and is past president of the N.J. Geriatrics Society. He earned his M.D. from the Sakler School of Medicine in Tel Aviv, completed his residency at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, and completed his fellowship in Geriatrics at NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. His academic positions include Fellow of the American College of Physicians and Fellow of the American Geriatrics Society.
